I don't know whether to blame Kerry or media headlines for the confusion. With all the attention on Syrian refugees, many headlines implied, weren't clear, or stated that All the 85k or 100k refugees would be Syrian. That's not the case.
The Timothy McVeighs and Dylan Roofs of the U.S. are more of a threat to national security than any refugee escaping the threat of Isis. If the Isis operatives wanted to slip through the cracks they are better off coming through the porous Mexican border where they won't be tracked in the system as opposed to official immigration channels which take years to process and vet.
I don't really care what Jesus would do in this case. Jesus was supposedly divine. I'm not; we're not. Christians should be kind and generous...but also wise.
Oh my goodness..I failed to source something that you could find in 30 seconds...and if you had bothered to do so, you would have realized that the numbers you posted "4 million and 400,000" have NOTHING to do with how many refugees the US will accept. Here's your source: The US set the number of refugees for 2015 (worldwide) The number of refugees who will be accepted in the US (worldwide) for 2016 is set at 85,000 The US has announced plans to accept 10,000 Syrian refugees
Let them settle in Islamic countries, closer in geography and culture. At least until we can figure out who are the good ones are and who are the radicalized muslims.
No need to be stupid and let our political correctness cause us another 9/11.
The first link states: "U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says the U.S. will accept 85,000 refugees from around the world next year, up from 70,000, and the number will rise to 100,000 in 2017" (Please take note of the word; 'worldwide' in that statement)
The second link: "The U.S. annually accepts 70,000 refugees from around the world. This group includes people fleeing violence, religious persecution and war. The Obama administration announced earlier this year that the number of people invited to move to the U.S. as refugees would be increased to 85,000 in the coming year, including about 10,000 Syrians".
And that was your proof that this poster was correct in her claim?

I said the plan is to bring in At Least 10k in 2016; never mentioned 100k. What I did say is that the number of refugees allowed in from various locations can change. There's also an 'unallocated' 6,000 spots, which can easily be added to the At Least 10k Syrian refugees.
Obama plans to increase the total number of refugees from 85k to 100k in 2017. Do you doubt that the 15k planned increase is to bring even more Syrian refugees.
What's the difference? 10,000 or 15,000? If you are so deathly afraid of them, then one is too many right? seems kind of silly to claim that 15k are more dangerous than 10k doesn't it? How about this, we will just seal the borders and not let anyone in, no more foreign tourists, no student or worker visas, no refugees; maybe then you will feel safe?

If I was one to stay up at night worrying about terrorists, I would probably worry more about the 111,000 saudis than 10,000 refugees, but what do I know..
