And they are talking about using drone delivery.
Who wants those things flying around?
Not me and not any wildlife!

Obviously. Especially all those folks who have no cars, are elderly, infirm, or find it difficult to haul groceries over long distances.

Via Sous-Vide, I measured the amount of water that was incorporated in frozen fish fillets and meats... would you believe 54% water?!

Hope the Whole Foods employees don't get CHOPPED down to nothing and it becomes a minimum wage job now. Whole Foods pays pretty well for that industry and this could spell bad news for them. Amazon as much as people love it, is cutting a lot of jobs. Sure we love to press our button, but at what cost. The constant consolidation of companies is BAD for consumers in the end. Whole Foods gets a bad rap and I feel it is unjust. They don't pay minimum wage as does many retailers. They also offer benefits, stock options and more. Whole Foods isn't as bad as the media portrays them.

For the most part, yes Americans really ARE lazy but I think the success of Amazon relies on their rating systems. I love to check the reviews before I buy something.

Groceries are another animal and I don't think it will transfer easily to online purchasing.

i want to be able to pick the watermelon and bananas myself. I don't want someone else picking my fresh stuff.

I think the Amazon review system is skewed in favor of paid and shill reviews. That said, I am still able to find useful and informative reviews there. But I am worried that I might still be influenced subconsciously by the positive shill reviews, because those are the first reviews I see.

Depends on what you are talking about.

Brand name products are no different at Wal-Mart than the same brand name product at Kroger.

.

Yes.

A other step which takes the buyer further away from the source of the food.

I purchase alot of my meat from local farmers. When vegetables and fruits are in season, local too.
And local honey: ) yum

CSA will deliver and its locally grown. Beats Amazon and you are supporting local jobs.
