Or maybe there's more to the story. I gave you two scenarios where you could definitely be charged with trespassing in a public park.

He wasn't given the warning when the incident happened. It was issued later by the city. He wasn't charged with trespassing - he was given a warning. There's absolutely no mention in any article of him having any prior issues in the park or anywhere else. By now, someone would have dug up all the dirt they could find on him.

I doubt you would sign a waiver of charges after getting your tooth knocked out, either.
Or he's scared that this guy or his relatives is nuts and is going to shoot him.

Settle out of court, give him $10-100k, father gets to make claims for his reputation and other guy gets money

Sounds to me like the father was embarrassed for letting his two year old get loose, so he tried to make himself look like "father of the year" by attacking the good samaritan. The good Samaritan probably didn't look like him, either, if you know what I mean. Free beat down and an opportunity to release the thugs in his family on an innocent man.

Sounds about right. I love how " tough guys" always go for soft targets. In sure if the Good Samaritan was Anderson Silva, in guessing he wouldn't have reacted the same way

What if the "Good Samaritan" had been Pamela Anderson? Speaking of "soft targets".....

The Samaritan has to wise up and make life a living hell for this scumbag father and his friends. He is way too nice.

The worst part about this story is the father's reaction after the fact when it's been found out that the guy was just trying to help his daughter. It would be one thing if he did what he did in the heat of the moment, and after figuring out the whole story, he publicly apologized to the man and thanked him from being a Good Samaritan. Instead he seems to be justifying his actions and is showing no remorse.

That's why these days it's unfortunately easier to just not get involved.
