Mental illness is often brought up with transgenderism and homosexuality too. For argument's sake, let's say any deviation from the majority or norm is a mental illness, I'd like to know what people with this un-named mental illness supposed to do? Be locked away? Drugged into submission? Be given some (as yet un-named) treatment? Mental illness is not curable anyway. I say, if your brand of craziness harms no one else, then be as lunatic as you choose.

That movie (Lars and the Real Girl) is actually a sweet and quirky movie about a guy with issues (I forget exactly what, maybe Aspergers) who is lonely and imagines and believes that doll is his real gf, and presents her as if she is real when he goes back home and moves in with his sister and her family. The whole town goes along with it. When he meets a real girl who likes him he moves on from the doll. It’s not a sex fetish movie at all.
If this had been a British Sex Doll brothel, we would have taken the doll out for a meal, would have taken the time to get to know her, would have remarked how beautiful she was, would have met her parents, would have taken her to the pictures and gone shopping with her etc etc.
