Maybe you should have called to investigate and protect other customers. How else they would know what's going on in their place?
It's just so worrisome thinking about what else is going on in other places, that we don't know about...
Anywhere you BUY food from is food that has the potential for contamination. All it takes is one mentally ill worker in the supply chain. Either accept you are eating things you normally wouldn't or grow your own.
Have you ever noticed cops eat lunch at places where they can watch the person making the food like Subway. This is because there has been cases where employees at a restaurant spit in a police officers food. One reason I never complain about food or send it back.

Dad always said two things about cooks... never **** off the cook and never eat food from a skinny cook.
Funny story( he was 18 at the time) Dad told me from WWII. The captain of his ship (727, USS DeHaven II) and the cook did not like each other. Every morning the captain ate the same thing... steak and eggs with orange juice. Apparently the cook was a well seasoned 'older' guy. After cooking the steak, he'd rub it all over his hairy chest and spit in the captains orange juice.

The bolded is why I never send food back if it's wrong. I just accept it. If you've seen the movie Waiting, you'll know why, as it relates to your other comment. The movie is both hilarious and horrifying, and probably doesn't stray too far from the actual conditions in crappy chain places like Applebee's & Olive Garden.
I found a big clump of hair in one of those pre-made salad containers from the grocery store. Says on the box the salad is already washed and ready to eat. This wasn't a hair or two but a clump like someone pulled it out and stuffed it in there, or someone's hair got caught in something and came out and got tangled in the food. So gross.
