Chief Jeff Swoboda said "multiple pieces of evidence" were collected during the February search.
Swoboda said investigators found videos that showed Masalta masturbating and ejaculating on multiple food items at a Safeway grocery store where he was employed.
Investigators still have "many more videos to go through" but the department believes there are "multiple victims and we have multiple felony charges against Mr. Masalta".
Wondering, again - wasn't there a surveillance camera in the store? No one bothered to periodically review the footage?

I still remember the case of the school custodian doing the same things....
Yep and now there will be even more. Copy-cat crime. The more exposure these crimes get, the more people do it. Not all of them are mentally ill. Most are just jerks.

It sounds as though the police used camera footage from the store to identify potential juvenile victims.
Contrary to popular belief, unless the business is a high dollar/high risk operation, there aren't people who sit in a little room somewhere going over the tapes on a regular basis. They can be used in real time when someone says 'hey we have a problem', but being alerted to a problem as it's happening isn't as common as people assume. Mostly the cameras are useful as evidence after the fact, when you have some idea of when, where, what, and who to look for.

Bank (after the robbery) yes!
Anywhere else (including the grocery stores) they review on a as needed basis. Nobody is going to sit for hours and watch grainy video of employees doing their job.

I'm afraid this may be happening a lot more than we might think. There are a lot of amoral people out there and fetishism is not the taboo it once was. Fetish porn is popular, the other stuff is considered ho-hum. Sick society produces sick individuals, not that there aren't already plenty naturally.
