Good morning. I can't believe I am the first one to check in!

45 minute squirrel chase complete. Extra calories burned due to shivering!

I put more food in the bird feeder and changed the water in the bird bath. Slow start.

Playing Beck! Odelay on the stereo. Never too early to dance around the kitchen.

Today felt like a lazy Sunday, slept in till almost 8 am (late for me). A cool cloudy morning, but no wind so decided to go for a bike ride. I have 4 bikes to choose from: Atlantis, which I ride almost every day to work, old Cannondale, a beast for errands around town (not likely to get stolen), a Bontrager mountain bike for the rough trails, and my old favorite 1979 Ciocc italian road racing bike. Today was a day for old Ciocc, and off we went while humming some italian songs that Dean Martin used to sing. Ciocc was so glad to get on the road that the pace was pretty hot. At the end of the ride my bike computer logged 38.5 miles in 2 hours 15 minutes, averaging 17.0 mph. I've had Ciocc for 28 years, pedaled it 40 to 50,000 miles and it still rides better than any of the new high end bikes that sell upwards of $3K in the local bike shops. Ciao.

recycled, thanks for the inspiring bike-ride post. I needed that!

I had a less-than-stellar weekend, play-wise.

My Saturday run was short (20 min) due to my own fault (sleeping in ).

Sunday, I headed out for a ~hopefully~ longer trail-ride,but found the trails slick and muddy. I cut my ride short and only managed ~1hr.

Still...hard to complain when the skies are sunny and the temps near 40F!

Default Hike

We went up to Lake Istokpoga today and HIKED!! I'm so happy I can do that now... I also took some GREAT pictures. Here is a picture of the paved path (about 6 feet wide) we hiked on today. It was beautiful. By the way, Lake Istokpoga is near Lake Placid in Highlands County, Florida.

Karla, I've seen pictures of your garden and it is just beautiful!!! What is the "preserve" behind your fence?

Recycled, I always love your descriptions and it sounds like you are biking through some beautiful country. Do you have pictures you can share? The web site you shared recently only had a thumbnail picture - but what a gorgeous area!!

Also, since I'm probably the last to post for today, how many of you read to the "last" post each day? I know I always do, every day - even when I don't post. Inspiration is a great thing!!!
