Capriottis!

I'm from Wilmington DE, born & raised between there and Philadelphia my whole life. If there is anything I know it's Sandwhiches/Hoagies & Steaks!!!!! The lack of subs here in Dallas kills me, not that I actually need them.

Capriottis is a sandwhich shop that originated in Wilmington, I practically was raised on it. It has really made a name for itself in the Vegas metro and has branched out to San Diego and now Dallas.

I actually drove to the one in Downtown Dallas on Ross Ave and man I felt at home, just walking inside.

I encourage u to try The Bobbie: This is Capriotti's most famous sandwhich.

turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayonnaise!!!!

Capistrami my ALL TIME FAVORITE: made with hot pastrami, melted Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and Coleslaw

I think the Capistrami is better than the Bobbie as well. Their Cheesesteak is good, but not great. I am grateful that they converted that eyesore old-time gas station into something useful. I hope Capriotti's is successful there.

Dallas for the most part is fairly weak in the sandwich department. I do love me some Capriotti's though. I never knew there was one in Dallas. I knew of the one way up in Plano but I don't get out there much. Grilled Italian is my favorite. When I was working in Kennett Square I'd hit that up once a week.

In Dallas Texadelphia has a great cheesesteak with a southwestern flare. Get the Founders Favorite with queso and jalapeno. Dodies on Greenville makes a great shrimp poboy. Gotta go to the original as the franchise ones in the burbs suck. For chains Great Outdoors and Jersey Mikes aren't too bad.

Personally I've been in search for a proper New Orleans style roast beef dripping with gravy on Leidenheimer bread.

Uncle Ubbers Sammich shop in Depp Ellum makes some tasty sandwiches. One of my favorites is the shaved ribeye.

For subs, I like New York Subway on Asbury by SMU - I've been going there for over 30 years!

You should also try the sandwiches at Jimmy's Italian Market in East Dallas.

I second Uncle Uber's and Jimmy's. If you're ever in Arlington, try Dino's.
