[quote=sorahatch;37892763]My husband is considering applying for jobs in Dallas. I like our area right now, it has everything I want, and I am wondering if I could find a similar place in Dallas. I would like:

No more than a twenty minute commute to downtown.
Good elementary school
Close to a montessori preschool (I know, high maintenance)
Within a ten minute drive of a gold's gym
Within a ten minute drive of an indoor skating rink
Rent around 1K, or mortgage around 1200.

If it's more like 30 min commute door-to-door (during rush hour) and 1500 budget, there are a handful of apartments on Zillow near Montessori schools that might work in the White Rock Elementary or Lakewood elementary zone. The closest ice rink would be Richardson (15-20 minute drive on neighborhood roads) and you'd either have to drive further to a Gold's gym or just get a new membership. It looks like there's a Gold's on the other side of White Rock.

I think that they are going to have to live in Richardson. I don't see many other choices.

They don't have to move to DFW. Some of us think stinky ol' ghetto Richardson suits us just fine, potholed roads and all.
