However, I did drive it about 30 miles today on icy roads with no drama whatsoever. AWD may help you go on the ice, but it won't help you stop.
At first I thought it was a Genesis, but second guess was RX8.

Have you done anything to it?

I have an 07 Speed3.

To stay on topic, I was hoping it would have melted off by now. Even if the roads are okay, this weather is keepin' me couped up in the house.

Yes. I sent you a personal message so we don't derail this thread. I've already posted on here what I did to help with this snow, except I didn't mention that I made a roughly 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water for washer fluid. That really helps melt the ice, but spraying it at a stop isn't a great idea unless I turn the vents to recirculate. I'm sure you can imagine me driving around with the windows rolled down when it's 25 degrees outside because my nose is burning.

I'm preparing to depart for East Texas. I really hate driving away on one of the rare days that we get this beautiful snow, but I told my mother I was planning to visit and she's already made preparations. I guess I'll just have to get a good look at it as I'm leaving.

Went to the grocery store...wasn't too bad, but I was only on Belt Line and Coit in Richardson. That stretch of Belt Line between 75 and Coit holds onto ice and slush longer than a lot of other roads do because of bridges and shady spots and it was fine. Haven't seen the highways.

Major accident on 635, a car was upside down. I think ppl are assuming that it is JUST wet, and that is not the case. Still slick out there in some spots. I ventured out with friends to have some drinks. .a lil concerned about what it will be like as the night goes on, and gets colder!

Thanks for the heads-up; I'm meeting my family for breakfast tomorrow morning, hopefully it won't be too bad.

Sad story from the other side of the Metro. Two people are dead, after their SUV went off the overpass and into Fort Worth creek.

Avoid the overpasses at night, when the road conditions are bad. You never know, if a patch of ice is there. Stay safe, guys.

We went out early Saturday and Sunday morning from Dallas to just east of Sherman. The tollway was treated and fine, 75 on the other hand was terrible. Especially once we hit Richardson and it got progressively worse. Saw a Ford Ranger loose it and miss being totaled from a Semi by about 6 inches. Later on there was a 3-4 car wreck involving a Semi. They had 75 shutdown and were having people drive north in the southbound land to get them off the highway. A trip that usually takes about an hour and a half took us 4 hours. Everyone was going between 20-40 mph from Allen on. Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday was a breeze for the same trip.

Wow, that looks awful. I am glad I live right along the DNT, it seems like that one is the least worrysome of all the major highways. Glad you made it safe!
