Hi,

I'm fairly new to the area, and was wondering where everyone's favorite place to go out to eat in Middletown, DE? I love breakfast too, so any help on a breakfast/lunch place or a dinner place would be helpful.

Also, I prefer to eat at places with locally based owners, so I'd prefer not to be recommended to any chain restaurants.

Anyways, thanks in advance for any help you may have...Again, I'm looking for places in the Middletown area.

Thanks.

Wagon Wheel in Smyrna for breakfast is excellent, large portions, and inexpensive. At one time the Smyrna Diner was the best, but quality seems lacking since they moved. Smyrna is not far from Middletown.

The Chinese buffet place in Middletown Crossing shopping center is surprisingly good. The little Italian place in that shopping center (can never remember its name) is really good, too.

Yep, Kitty Budd's Wagon Wheel. Almost time in February for muskrat and stewed tomatoes!

I miss the old Smyrna Diner; the new fangled one just isn't the same.

Default Restaurant

How about The Hearth on Rt. 13. Lots of locals use to go there for breakfast and it was always very clean.

Breakfast: Wagon Wheel in Smyrna or Chez Del (eat in the Diner Car section)-Rt 13 North of Odessa
Bagels: Sunrise Cafe (great place for eating alone Mon-Fri; it's like the small town coffee shop)
Lunch: E's on Main St (for soup and great panni's; Middletown is blessed to have this place)
Lunch: Pulled Pork and other BBQ dishes at Young's BBQ in the strip mall by Tequila's
Dinner: The Granary - Georgetown, MD (a 20 minute drive and worth every minute)
Dinner: LaPiazza (great Italian & desserts) in the strip east of the Post Office
Pizza: Caruso's in the same strip as Super G

Ohhhhhhh, I forgot a couple summertime places.
Blue Crabs: Boondocks, east of Smyrna or Sambo's in Lipsic (sp?)
Ice Cream: Brusters across from Lowes (a franchise, but a really good franchise)

I know it's a chain, but I like Buffalo Wild Wings in Middletown. Plus, on Wednesday evenings, my friend hosts an awesome trivia night there!

has anyone tried the soul food on middletown mainstreet yet ? It was empty for so many months, so I was surprised they finally opened a couple of weeks ago.
