In a few days, I will start my move back to Denver! When I get back, I'm thinking about taking pictures and posting photo threads. Anyways, my question to you is, are you able to find beauty in Denver? It seems like people have mixed opinions. Whenever someone brings Denver up as an attractive city, it seems like somebody else always has to make a comment disagreeing.

Personally, I like the scenery excluding the mountains. The winters aren't to appealing, but other then that, I see nothing wrong with a city being somewhat flat with minimal tree coverage. What is your take?

IMO, scenery is great stuff, but you LIVE inside your HOUSE.

Some people "drive their money" (buy fancy cars), while I prefer to "live in my money" (nice home with lots of perks).

I've seen some photo threads in the Denver and other forums that prove Denver IS a beautiful city, as is the state in general.

You talk about other people not liking Denver, when it seems you are the one who doesn't like Denver. You are moving to"The Mile High City" and you don't like mountains? If you don't like the Winters in Denver, you have many warmer parts of the county where you can live.

It depends alot on what part of Denver you're talking about.

The established areas of Denver and the older, inner-ring suburbs have a pretty nice blanket of trees. The newer suburban areas (those built in the past 30 years or so) however, don't have nearly as many trees are are not very visually appealing in my opinion.

The winter months between November and March are the hardest for me. Denver gets awfully brown and barren looking during this time of the year, but the spring and summer are much prettier when it is green. The mountain views of course, are always a beautiful backdrop at all times of the year.

In my opinion, Denver isn't the most beautiful city in the world, but it's far from being ugly.

The view from the Nature and Science museum over the city to the mountains is beautiful no matter what time of the year.

I think the parks and historic neighborhoods in Denver are very nice looking.

The most beautiful city in the US is San Francisco...hands down.

What are you talking about? I never said I don't like the mountains! What makes you say that? And I also never said I didn't like the winters, just not the scenery in the winter.

Driving around the Denver area on the freeways, I tend to notice a lack of trees in certain areas. However the mountains backdrop is certainly beautiful.

I am not fond of areas that are treeless but I love the mountain views driving home from work. Plus the abundance of micro breweries makes it even better.

Eh, I dunno. I take view into consideration when picking a city, and while San Francisco has good views, I don't know if they're the best. It's a tough call. If I had to make a list of the five most beautiful cities in the U.S., Denver and San Francisco would both be on it, as would Seattle and Boston (the five spot would be a really tough call). Where you rank them from there is entirely determined by personal priority on what constitutes beauty.
