Couple of winter tips for you, as I've been through 4 winters in my Tesla:
1. Keep regen in low on snowy/icy/slushy roads.
2. Not sure if the M3 has it, but if so, you may want to try Chill Mode to limit takeoff acceleration.

BTW, I've had all-seasons all the time and haven't had any problems, and I go up to Summit Co. weekly during ski season.

Good advice......except the all season tires bit. You don’t know how much better it could be.

Sidebar:

I don't know how long you've had it, but can you share how well the Tesla has performed during colder temps?

My spouse and I have debated whether an electric car would be feasible for us. The alleged drop in performance in cold temps has been a major concern of mine.

Also, would you say that it's a feasible option if you want to take long road trips? Can you charge it relatively quick at the super charger stations?

Yes having good tires does help. But you're forgetting the biggest component, the person behind the wheel.

I understand what you're saying, but I just haven't found the need for it. I have the luxury of staying home and looking out the window during the storm, as was the case last week.

Just like the saying about there's no all wheel braking, snow tires aren't going to help you when there's an uninsured driver with no tread who slams you from behind.

No doubt that other drivers are my biggest fear. With that said, more traction is almost always better than less traction. The more likely scenario in my experience has been watching some guy slide through a stop sign and I can accelerate out of the way or stop quickly and avoid the accident because I have superior traction.

Winter tires are game changers.

I see it as an investment on my well being as opposed to sliding and crashing and dying. The only thing that's not a depreciating asset, and that's dependent on the market as well, is a house
