We have a baby gate with a hole cut in it blocking off the litter room, of course our dogs are bigger. We also have to seperate our cats for feeding and each one gets their own room with a closed door. When they are done we open the doors and pick up the dishes and put them behind the baby gate, that way if there is any food left the dogs won't get it.

My peekapoo used to bully our cats out of their remaining moist cat food.

She lived for 22 years!

The dog will be fine. The cats will be fine.

What's not fine is making a big deal about it.

Just let them work it out on their own.

Ours did the same thing...cat food and cat poo.
We had to keep the cat's dish on top of the dryer where the dog couldn't reach it.
