Yup, I'm for a national law. The Michael Vicks of this world would never get another pet.

WTF neutral?! this has NOTHING to o with rehoming pets...
1: puppy stires should be SHUT OWN, they are discutsing places and YOU have no idea what goes on behind closed doors...unfortunatly I do!

2: nowhere in this law is "rehoming a pet" listed as a reason to be put on the offenders list...
this list is for people CONVICTED of committing animal abuse...were not talking "i dont have time someone buy my dog" were talking "hey i strung my dog up by the neck used it as a pinyata and when it finally passed out form lack of oxygen i dumped it in the river!"

so mabe next time you start soouting aboutbuing from puppy stores and registering people for rehoming pets you shoudl PROBABLY read what were tlaking about first.

this regisrty is a list of people convicted of curlly torturing animals, enying them veterinary care, emotionally abusing them...this is for the micheal vicks and sociopaths of the world that feel the need to torture small creatures to make themselves feel better...
and given the STRONG link between animal torture and HUMAN serial killers...

a list like this makes it easier for RESPONSIBLE breeders and SHELTERS (you know the people that actually care where the animals go rather than how much money you can throw at them) to run checks they do anyway...

I am on the fence about this.

The sex offender registries are a good thing........yet, they can give a false sense of security.

Some people look at the list and think "all clear".

Then they drop their guard.

Agree with this...as long as we don't stop there. There must be harsher laws for people who would do such horrendous things like beating kittens to death, burning dogs with acid, cutting off their noses, taping their mouths shut with their tongues sticking out, hanging them, cutting them, electrocuting them, starving them, etc.

And for anyone who has an opinion to share, at least read the article first, you get foxywench all riled up she can't even type straight!

Know what it says before you spout off ignorance.
