We feed Stella & Chewy's, Zuke's, cooked chicken, and a bit of either Kirkland or Blue Buffalo kibble.

Because I have multiple dogs, I like to rotate All Life Stages kibbles. More so with the older dogs. When I bring home a new puppy, I keep them on the food they were previously on for atleast a month, then I start to slowly switch to what my other dogs are eating at the time. Every dog is different, and it's pretty much trial and error, but I feed Acana and Orijen because my dogs get ALOT of exercise, and they love it!

For our 90 lb lab mix we feed TOTW (various varieties) mixed with THK. He gets raw meals once or twice a week. We don't feed kibble on those days.

Our two small dogs are on a raw diet, primaily pre-mixed for convenience. We feed primarily Halcyn (sp?) and Primal. We do mix THK with their food also.

That's like asking the IRS if taxes are fair and a good thing.

It is, of course, up to you what you feed and the worst kibble is better than a poorly done homemade diet. But please check out these sites that rate dog foods. Both will give you a more unbiased viewpoint about O' Roy as well as other kibbles and canned dog foods. Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor

I feed Acana duck and bartlett pear - my dog unfortunately was on three different foods that were recalled (Taste of the Wild, Wellness, and California Naturals)...ended up having gastrointestinal problems for months, but is doing really well on the Acana now.

Veggienut, are you sure the bloody stool was from the Acana? Is it possible your dog got into something outside or inside? i'm just surprised, because Acana is really a top notch food, though your pup could certainly have had a reaction.

I hope to never switch except to feed different flavors.

also royal canin USED t be a popuar brand in the uk, when it was stillmade IN the UK/Europe...since mars bought the company and moved everything to the USA the quality has roped dramatically and over the past 8yrs its popularity has dropped

there are still a select number of royal canin lines that are made in Europe and only available to the European market...
they still retain pretty good quality...
we also have to remember that most or erope BANS the same practices most common in the USA...
in erope GMO corn is not used (gmos are infact BANNED in many European countries), soy is not as readily available and thus not used, and chicken is NOT imported from china...
here in the us however...gmo and imported meats are about all you can get with larger lable brands.

I have a Yorkshire Terrier which are known to be picky eaters and their tummy's don't tolerate a lot of food items. The bloody stools happened right after I switched him Natural Balance.

Still unsure about switching him. I didn't put many kibbles of Wellness Simple in his bowl this am that I mixed with his Royal Canine. He normally doesn't eat when you put the bowl down, but he did cause I had the broom out cleaning the floor and he was attacking the broom while eating.

Question Question of the Night

Bump

I'm mixing a few and small amount of the Wellness into his Royal Canine, but I just can't set the bowl down. He has to play ball to eat and have activity as such in order to eat. Do any of your dog (s) have this issue~? So really, it didn't help me to switch.

Just purchased Castor & Pollux Organix Adult Canine Formula for Judy since she'll be alone now. She seems to like it, she takes a mouthful, walks into my bedroom eats it then returns for another - this is her pattern so I'm sure she likes it. If she didn't she would sniff it and overturn the dish.
