Because Obama supporters have so much faux-pride and emotional capital invested in Obama's campaign. To admit Obama is a failure would require O supporters to admit they were wrong as well, which they won't do because they aren't honest with themselves so they'll vote for him regardless of what he does or says. It's the nature of politics these days, it's not about substance, it's about one-upping or scoring the most point and bragging like a football game. You and I both know that Obama isn't a good president, not that Romney isn't better. It's called a race to the bottom. Obama's campaign is based on not being "as bad as" Romney.
