What good is the presidency when you don't control Congress, the Senate, governor's mansions, or state legislatures?

Republicans control congress but Democrats just blocked them trying to defund Planned Parenthood. How did that happen?

Some interesting facts:

1. Mr. Trump invited Hillary and Bill to his wedding in 2005, where they had front-row seats.

2. Mr. Trump has given over $100,000 to the Clinton Foundations.

3. Mr. Trump gave money to Hillary's NY Senate race and DNC. Until 2011, Mr. Trump had given about $100,000 more to the Democrats than to Republicans (In 2012, Mr. Trump ran as a Republican).

4. Bill nominated Mr. Trump's sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, to the Court of Appeals of Third Circuit. Of course, Judge Barry is a Republican. POTUS very rarely nominate a person from the other party to serve on a Federal appeals court (one step below the SCOTUS). Before serving on a District Court, Judge Barry went to Hofstra Law School (pretty bad) and had worked only in public service positions, most prominent of which the Assistant DA in NJ. A very thin resume for a Federal appeals court.

Having said that, I do not believe that Mr. Trump is a plant. I think he genuinely wants to be the POTUS.

Please are you all forgetting Jeb Bush gave Hillary Clinton a service award?

“Former Secretary Clinton has dedicated her life to serving and engaging people across the world in democracy,” Bush said in a statement. “These efforts as a citizen, an activist, and a leader have earned Secretary Clinton this year’s Liberty Medal.”

Was Bush on the committee to decide who the recipients of the Liberty Medal would be? Otherwise, he's just a presenter. Kind of like when Chief Justice Roberts administers the oath of office. It's not an endorsement.

And we all know that Bill is close to HW Bush and Dubya, too.

It's all very incestuous.

States don't matter at the federal level so irrelevant. As far as federal, veto pen. Anything gets vetoed, then any Republican majority doesn't matter anymore as the GOP does NOT and will NOT have a veto overriding majority in any of the houses. A Democrat winning the White House also means the Democrats possibly taking back the House and/or Senate; it's called riding the president's coattails.

Jeb's worse than Trump, and that's saying something.

I've never seen such a lying, conniving, cunning illegal alien sympathizing megalomaniac traitor piece of filth than him in my life. He will be the official end of this country after the last several presidents (Reagan included) have done.

And even before we get there, GOP will not have 60 votes for cloture. So nothing worthwhile gets passed in the Senate, as the parties are unable to compromise on anything until there is a must-pass legislation. Then all the dumb kabuki theatre chit ensues, usually thanks to Mr. Cruz and his butt buddy, Mr. Lee.

Of course, in most cases, the different factions of Republicans in Congress can't agree on anything among themselves. Exhibit A: The Transportation Bill. How many times have we seen Mr. Boehner forced to ignore the Hastert rule to pass must-pass legislations at the last possible second to divert utter disasters?

Donald Trump on the Issues
Bubba destroyed two Republican contenders, left office with a 66% approval rating, grew the economy more than double what Reagan was able to achieve, left his successor a large budget surplus and has about 5,300 less combat fatalities under his watch. And he did it all whilst getting serviced in the oval office, much to the dismay of evangelicals and Ned Flanders-clones everywhere.

The dude had brilliant ideas, stole a few from the GOP when warranted, and was a master politician - the best of several generations. It would not terribly surprise me if this was a Clinton-influenced machination, given how he was able to emasculate the "Republican Revolution" of 1994 and turn Newt Gingrich into a bloated sideshow (who oddly polled well among the "crazies" for awhile in 2012). The fact that a poor candidate like Hillary Clinton will almost certainly be President come 2017 must be very frustrating indeed.

AM Radios, trailer parks and lower-middle-class white angst will not carry 2016, kids - but at least you can say you were part of the "Summer of Trump".
