I doubt he will either. Chances are that after the convention he will be back in form.

She said Trump was upset about the leak.

Then she said Trump was trying to 'get out of it.'

Trying to get out of the VP choice, or the announcement? Which one?

Looking at the character of Trump, he doesn't waver on anything. Talk radio is already on board and have nothing but positive things to say for a change today.

Trump also said he wanted a traditional politician. Out of the RINOs and evangelical wings of the Republican party, the evangelical is the lesser o the two evils and Cruz, who is a strong conservative evangelical, came in second. These are extra votes and support within the party.

The party is united.

It does not say much about Trump's leadership or his ability to surround himself with quality advisors or a cabinet of distinction when all he could get to run with him was the likes of Gingrich, Christie, and Pence. Maybe if he were elected the good people would step forward, but in this, his first test of leadership, he failed miserably.

This has all the makings of an unhappy marriage.

Unfortunately, Trump can't fire Pence and Pence isn't subject to a non-disclosure agreement.

Well, I'm not going to disagree with you because I don't know the details of what went into his choice. However, did it do McCain any good or Romney any good to pick who they did? No. Simply put, it doesn't much matter in the general election. Trump picked someone who overall was a safe pick and didn't rattle the nerves of conservatives. That's what he needed to do.

This is appeasement for the establishment, so at least there is unity and money behind the campaign.
This ^^^. The only ones that should be disturbed by the Pence choice is the anti-Trumps since this will get Trump the backing of the Republican Party and propel him to victory in November. Trump has to win or our nation is finished as we are losing who we are, everything we worked to become, our sovereignty........

I thought Governor Pence was a pretty good choice. He seems honest, although I may not agree with some of his opinions.

As for Newt: are none of you old enough to remember him as Speaker? Of the Republican House voting to reprimand him? Of his general sleaziness? Newt would have been a disaster for the Trump ticket. I have no doubt that many older Americans, on the fence, would have been turned off by the thought of Newt being next in line to the presidency (it was bad enough when he was third in line).
