1.) They weren't voting Republican to begin with most likely.
2.) See answer number 1.
3.) Certainly a possibility. Trump also has no mechanism in place to defend him if that is the case.
4.) Expect Pence to soften his views somewhat now that he is on the ticket.
He's a right wing extremist. Signed the anti gay bill for Indiana, supported the Iraq war, he's also a friend of the Koch brothers. Doesn't believe in evolution. A real good choice for America.
I understand that the Koch Brothers bailed on Trump, maybe they come back.
He does have quite a bit of right wing baggage, the DNC already has the ads out. One has him willing to shut down the government over abortion funding.
He was looking for a loyal conservative to play to the base. He got that.. Funny thing is pence was going to lose re-election. I voted for him last time and wasn't this time so instead of Gregg winning the state might stay Republican after all.
Donald trying to reach to the right to stabilize the ticket has chosen a person who will:
1) cost him votes among LBGT people. He's anti pretty much everything gay.
2)He's an unknown to hispanics.
3)He is already taking heat from the Dems and his vetting is sure to turn up something.
4)He and trump are diametrically opposed on policies on gay rights, women's rights and China.
Donald has made small gaffes. This is his 1st big one and I anticipate he and the Gov will not be getting along soon. He had the chance to select a well known, vetted, and welll liked people. He MAY have just given away the election.
I think he is a Big Mistake, but, not for the reasons you give.
Best thing Trump can do is get Pence to turn down the job.
I do not like the Pence choice. He would have been better off with Newt or Flynn.. however, he probably had to do it to get the fully party support. I still do not like the choice.
Trump probably didn't have all that many good choices for a VP pick. Not too many people want to join him for fear of ruining their political futures, and the picks in question were all problematic.
Christie? No geographical diversification, too much alike in personality, and saddled with ethics issues in NJ. Not a favorite of the hard right evangelicals. Aint going to put NJ in play for the GOP.
Gingrich? Terrible unfavorables as well.
Pence is the least bad choice because he
1) shores up his standing with evangelicals
2) has Washington and Congressional experience
3) has a bland personality which is a good contrast to Trump
Also, for Pence and the Indiana GOP, he's had a rough, unpopular stint as governor and was facing a very tough reelection battle. So it makes sense to "kick him upstairs" as he has nothing really to lose by hooking up with Trump.
No matter who he picked someone would be unhappy. Dem's will attack anyone who isn't for crooked Hillary.
I'm not voting for Pence or Pee Wee Herman. I'm voting for Trump.
"GO TRUMP" or live in a 3rd world dump governed by the criminal organization of crooked Hillary.
