It is illegal to preach politics and be tax except at the same time.

How would I know? Most people there are Democrats. And to be fair, there are peopel in Denver who've never been to Boulder, about the same distance away. Most people in Denver are Democrats, too.

Have you ever darkened the door of a church? I've never heard politics preached in a Lutheran church.

yet somehow there is a term "reform theology" for very liberal churches that spend a great deal of time focusing on electing liberal politicans and advancing a liberal agenda...

yet somehow the groups that go around beating up churches and taking their tax exempt status generally focus on conservative churches....

more liberal hypocracy.

Personally I think the notion that a church's tax exempt status can be revoked for speaking out on political issues is a violation of the first amendment. I dont care if it is Jerimiah Wright or Pat Robertson doing the talking.

The topic is: Why do you think our cities are so Blue and Our Towns are so Red.

Being from THE REDDEST STATE on the Map right now, I can tell you it is Pulpit Politics mostly. Which IS illegal for them to engage in while being a non-profit.

I've never lived anywhere where higher education is frowned upon. That includes small towns.

I agree. And anyways, those who go to those churches and are influenced by them are probably going to vote the same way anyways even if the preachers didn't say anything. The campaigns on both sides take advantage of religion in their ads and such.
