Cuomo is too liberal for any wingnut, but he's a superb gentleman, was a fine governor, and the words from his 1984 speech are eerily prescient for today's situation. He's in his 70's which is fine, all he'd have to do is fill the vacancy for 2 years.

What do you New Yorkers think of the guy who's mayor of Buffalo (sorry his name escape me right now). I guess he doesn't stand a chance if his name isn't on the tip of everyone's tongues, but he seemed like an intriguing choice to me.

Governor Paterson may appoint a caretaker to take over Hillary's senate seat for the two years prior to 2010 election. According to this article, he is becoming increasingly irritated by the publicity surrounding his choice. This option was exercised by Governor Minner of Delaware when she appointed a former aide to Vice President-elect Joe Biden to succeed him in the Senate until a new senator is elected in 2010. It is expected Biden's son, state Attorney General Beau Biden, will run for the seat after he returns from a tour of duty in Iraq.

Well, good for the Gov. of Delaware! Incumbency is a powerful election tool. Being appointed, especially if you are from a prominent political family, practically guarantees you the job as long as you want it.

Default Caroline Kennedy says "you know" 142 times in Interview

I can not believe that Caroline Kennedy is going to be the next Senator from New York. She is just to shy and inarticulate for the job. That job is for the big leagues, not for someone better suited for the Library. She met with the press finally and came off terribly and said "you know" 142 times during the short interview.

Do you support Kennedy for the NY Senate?
