It seems that no matter how high speed my internet is I always need to buy a higher level of service in order for a 45 minute TV episode to stream without stopping
Might be a modem or router issue. I have one of the lower levels of high speed service available here, and I have no issues with streaming.
I buy DVDs from Amazon
No blu-}•ray
No DVD-HD
I buy my movies
And keep them
....... sooooo That if I don't have Internet or whatever kind of streaming which happens very very frequently I can still watch a movie
No services
No extra money
That simple.
I have download stuff but that's the only other thing that I do.
I had Netflix and I did not like the idea of having to be login whenever I want to watch something so I did my 30 day trial and binge watched Breaking Bad and some other movies and that's about it.

I ditched my dish (sat & internet) service several years back and had to rely on dial-up service. Bought Roku after a few years not really expecting it to work with my 5mps download speeds but it surprisingly is quite reliable with almost no buffering delays. Have since added Sling (w/HBO) and other than occasionally having to reboot my router, the content streams without interruption.

A tip that I learned on another C-D forum ... plug your router into one of those outlet timers and set it to turn off for a short time at like 3am. Your router will refresh every day while you sleep, and will help you avoid the frustrations of having to do it at an unconvenient time.
