Since I don't have time to type too much, here is something that you are missing here Trimac;

"An Eastern part of the Germanic tribes crossed the Baltic Sea between 600 and 300 bc, pushed up the Vistula to the Carpathian Mountains, and moved down toward the Black Sea, where they arrived in the second century A.D. The Vandals settled in Silesia, the Markomanni in Bohemia. The Goths, after reaching the Black Sea, divided into Visigoths and Ostrogoths ( West and East Goths) mingled with the local population, and established vast kingdoms in Southern Russia. The Ostrogothic kingdom at the peak of its power in the middle of the fourth century AD stretched from Black Sea to the Baltic.
Some of the Germanic tribes stayed in their native Scandinavia; they remained the purest bred of what may be called the Germanic peoples. They later sent out a second wave of migration. Bands of Norsemen, the "Warager" or confederates, crossed the Baltic Sea after AD 800 and subjected the Slavic and Finnish populations. The conquered peoples called these invaders "Rus" ( Russians) Advancing along the Dnieper in 864, the Rus settled in Kiev which became the center of their political power and the nucleus of what would later become Russia."

So there you have it.

So what makes the German-speaking Swiss less Germanic than their direct neighbours in Germany and Austria?

Don't really agree with those rankings. Think that Scotland and England maybe should be down with a little Germanic.

Like totally not.
Look how you people lag behind everyone else in beer consumption and make appropriate conclusions.
Germanic you are not.
So now that we unveiled the truth, tell us what's the drink of choice in your non-Germanic countries of Norway and Sweden.
