I'm in the same mode. I don't think the Western powers and their ME running mates are going to allow peace in Afghanistan. The Talibs are apparently trying to get into the Panshir valley but there's not a lot of progress. Every bush, every rock is mined. The alliances of old are forming. Afghanistans only hope is China and Russia.

In all fairness she said that "it has never been proven."

People like that don't require proof to believe it's true. Either way simply uttering the words is enough to get the word out.
.
People who think critically and logically are not the target.

That's how propaganda works.

Bellingcat the fake news site run by Britain is covering the stories now. They're briefly mentioned in the news story on the Taliban advancing in Panjshir valley where they claim control of 4 of 7 districts.

story

G-7 has invited Russia and China to meeting on Afghanistan this week. Respected voice from Pakistan sees Afghanistan being unstable if Taliban tries to rule with an iron hand and isn't flexible to the different tribes.

The Taliban really need to be flexible and they need to have a type of government where all Afghans have a voice. Even that is going to be hard because there are interests who have much to gain with chaos and those interests are powerful.

Judging by what Sharij told about the Bellingcat in one of his dispatches, ( he had personal experience in dealing with them,) I'd say neither them, nor their *news* can be trusted.

Not just G-7, but dearest Jens Stoltenberg of NATO, one of the biggest russophobs out there, is finally seeing the light, coming to understanding that without Russia the control of the terrorism and Islamic expansion in that part of the world is impossible without Russia's cooperation.

(Yeah, this Jens Stoltenberg. )

So yeah, the admission "we need Russia to patch things up, but the problem is - we can't trust Russia."
Of course you can't you dolts, because people you made the deals with back in the 90ies ( hello Mr. and Mrs Clinton,) can't be trusted. (And these people really didn't go anywhere - only part of them were squeezed out of the state apparatus.)

Not only that, but now they are in agreement with China too, which has "issues to settle with the US," which is the "beacon and defender of the whole "Western democracy."

And now India turned to Russia too, ( or rather to the "Russian governmrnt that can't be trusted" from Western point of view,) because of the situation if found itself under the current circumstances, facing this whole Islamic/Kashmir issue.

So things only get better by the day.

As for Pandsher and Saleh/Massud - they are probably waiting there while the West and the Russians will figure out their differences, because they won't last there for long, unless they'll start getting airlifts from Tadjikistan on a regular basis. Otherwise they'll fold pretty soon, with all their demands to have at least 30% in the upcoming government. ( Talibs are postponing to name their new government, that they were planning to do Friday, since now they decided to finish the resistance in Pandsher first.)

And may be that's what Putin is having in mind too, because so far "Taliban is a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia" still runs across the news as a red ribbon.

Konstantin Kosachev ( whoever he is now - vice speaker of State Duma?) already responded that "Russia is ready for cooperation against terrorism in Afgahnistan for long time already, but for the last 20 years NATO was snobbishly declining the offer of "collective security" there.

The word was out already before WION, so...
"Accusations not proven" is good enough in this situation in my book.

Where have you seen *flexible* terrorists?

P.S. In other news - yet another suicide bomber blew up himself in Pakistan now, at some check point.

He belongs ( or whatever is left of him) used to belong to some "Tekhrik-i-Taliban Pakistan," ( Taliban movement in Pakistan, that reemerged with the victory of Taliban in Afghanistan.) They took responsibility for explosion. Four military are dead, 19 other are wounded, some critically.

Using the Russian expression - "понеслось говно по трубам," which is pretty close to the "sh*t hit the fan,* but more descriptive of the situation.
