I think I made it clear that I was replying to someone who claimed something was largest in the world but it was only the largest in Russia. Context matters...

ok now I understand the miscommunication. So Scrat said "Russia lost one of it's floating drydocks recently. PD-50 the largest drydock in the world sunk, almost taking the carrier Admiral Kuznetsov with it."

And then DKM said "Russia is not the world."

Now most people including myself took it as a anti Russia jab, because the world doesn't revolve around Russia, so who cares. But obviously people are out to defend Scrat because this is Russia thread so obviously such news will be shared on this thread.

However DKM's statement was a witty correction of Scrat claiming that the drydock PD-50 is the largest in the world, when in fact it is not, it is only the largest in Russia and hence DKM saying that the world is not Russia.

Sorry DKM that flew right over my head

Gas is a great way to cut emissions so Gazprom should be well positioned to benefit from the increased demand for gas. However the man in charge of the country insists on attacking countries who align with their biggest customers, so Gazprom isn't going to have a lot fun while he is in charge.

I wonder to what extent Gazprom tries to limit methane emissions into the atmosphere, in its gas operations (speaking of climate change and the need to limit emissions...). It's a serious problem in parts of the US.

They need methane (natural gas) to produce hydrogen. In the US, natural gas is essentially a free by-product of the fracking operations that are primarily drilling for crude oil. Much of that is light sweet and needs to be exported. 70% or more of the oil drilling operations run at a loss.

It's outrageous. Letov was removed from the shortlist of names for Omsk airport. This is a reason to gather a couple of protests.

ps: although in my opinion Tupolev is more suitable for an airport.
