Yes I would like to live in Europe again. I lived in Germany in the 1970's and enjoyed it. I have visited Ireland several times as my family is from there. Either place I imagine, but I really enjoyed Germany. Unfortunately I can't eat much of the German food, so it would make it very difficult. I better stick with Ireland.

In 1995 I was living with Russians in Daugavpils, Latvia. When it was time for me to return to the United States, transportation was breaking down and I genuinely worried that I would be stranded. That time of panic never left me.

No... frankly speaking Europe sounds like a rather dull place to live in. Very nice, cultural, good place to visit, and good food, but Europe doesn't change, which doesn't fit me.

Yes, but I'm not sure where honestly. France seems beautiful, but they have higher unemployment (around 10%) and I'd have to learn French quite well. The unemployment is high in the UK and Sweden as well. I'm looking closer at the Netherlands lately. It's strategically in a great position and has low unemployment. Otoh, I've read it's also likely to be the worst affected by the effects of global warming of the major European countries.

Not only that, it's more and more a dangerous place, insecurity is growing exponentially everywhere in France, thefts, burglaries, murders, riots are on the rise (watch French tv /read French newspapers, you'll see) but SSSHHHH...here on this Forum people imagine that France is a dreamland...let them daydream....

Where did you get the idea that Europe doesn't change? Do you mean because they don't destroy their historic buildings and build boring ones that all look alike as in the US?

I have never lived abroad, but think it would be fun to live in another country for a few years, so I voted "yes". It's not that I'm dissatisfied with the U.S., it's just that I'd like to experience a foreign culture, immerse myself in a foreign language, and discover what other types of experiences a different place can give me. I've only lived in two places in the United States and wouldn't mind living in a few other places here in the States, for that matter.

My wish list: Switzerland, Scotland, Austria, one of the Scandinavian countries, Ireland, England, Germany.... lots of places

In a heartbeat. I lived abroad for a year (3 months in Iceland, 4 in Mexico, 5 in England) and while I got back about 6 months ago, I'm still experiencing "culture shock". I can't imagine raising a family in the US anymore.
