I agree, for the long run its a good idea and it will help retain their looks. But for the most part especially at younger ages, men don't care if women are tone. Likewise, a skinny, scrawny man is not nearly as flattering.
When I exercise in the free weights section I see more men. I'm often the only woman in that section. I haven't noticed how many are "super fit" though, because I'm focused on my form, or finding an available bench, clearing a space to do a certain exercise, watching TV for a minute between sets, and so on.
I see more women on the cardio machines. I can't really say how many of them are "super fit" either. If I do cardio I'm either watching the TV that's attached to the machine I'm on, or I'm looking out of the window into the parking lot & the street.
In both sections I see quite a few slender/slim/healthy-sized people who might be really fit.
Exactly. Women can get laid whenever, wherever usually too.
bingo. i see a lot of cute girls these days that seem to not mind gaining some extra poundage. it doesnt matter as much, there will always be plenty of guys happy to nail them anytime they want it.

They better dump that extra poundage before they turn 35 or there will be weight loss heck to pay!
When I do my o'dark thirty workouts, I am the only woman in the gym lifting alongside the guys. I see more women doing cardio versus weight training. They don't know what they're missing out on.
In my gym: 70% fit-looking men, 30% fit-looking women.
I have noticed that the 40 and older group has a very different percentage: 90% men, 10% women. Nearly all the women older than me (I'm 36) don't look fit. That's probably just due to different body composition, childbearing, etc.

I think you need both if you have say 20 or more pounds to lose, but I agree. The weight training does provide a rush when you're working out at dawn like I've been doing, and I like the nice carryover effect when I shower, dress afterwards and dash to the office.
Dont confuse being skinny with working out. Unless you consider NOT lifting a fork working out. Women just need to watch what they eat in order to remain skinny. Actually being fit and working out is usually not a requirement that men have.
Good because I don't work out.
