What city/state is that?

Sense of accomplishment. I don't really love to run but I have done it a fair amount. I always try to keep pushing to improve my time or run farther. I've eclipsed a 50 mile event this year and plan on attempting a 100 mile run at the end of this year. People around you often think you have become crazy to endure or attempt these feats but when you accomplish them I can't replicate a better feeling

I work out for health reasons. I want to be around for my nieces and little cousins.

I used to despise running. But found using a heart rate monitor and running to zones made it much more enjoyable. I wish I had that technology years ago. I feel less dread going out. I have more endurance - running distances that I'd never run before. No need for me to run 7 min miles and hate life. 8:15 min miles suit me well, burn calories, keep the heart healthy.

Vanity as well. Slow the aging process.

Before I retired in December, worked in Federal bldg. Yep, walkers, oxygen, canes. Most were obese.

I am a weak person and am just getting weaker due to a hereditary medical-condition.

Carrying excess weight is horrible for me, it makes getting around all the harder.

Because it feels good afterwards
Because it’s healthy for you
Because I want to look good without a shirt
Because I want to look good for my fiancé

I know I shouldn't knock another's motivation, but I just don't understand all the obsession with hardcore weightlifting and trying to get a cop/soldiers body. Then again, I'm the type of person who'd rather have the stamina to run away from the fight than become part of it.
It's not for you to understand someone's obsession with hardcore weightlifting. People have different workout styles.
