I have always been attracted to women who use minimal/no makeup. While I won't go as far as the O.P. in describing women who overuse makeup as "Clowns" I am a bit turned off by heavy makeup.
I love the right shade of lipstick on a woman. I will go out of my way to compliment her. This includes red lips - LOL.
I am very fair complected but I have a lot of color in my face and very dark eyes. My hair is not gray, it's silvery mixed with just about every color it's ever been. Sort of blondish silvery with pepper in it if that makes sense. I often wear reddish lipstick colors. I don't care if other people like it or not - I don't wear it for them, I wear it for me.

My mom only ever wore lipstick, no other makeup. Her friend, however, slathered it on--bright blue eyeshadow, heavy liner, foundation, blush, and always bright red lipstick. At some point that friend and her husband moved to Florida, and when we went there when I was a teen, my parents stopped to see them.
My one brother was eight years younger than me, and when Betty came running out to greet my mother, he said, "She looks like The Joker!"
This post is nearly 15 years old, why are people replying to a zombie post?? In the real world NOBODY cares what lipstick color you wear, do what YOU want do today. Personally I like red lipstick, but there are far more important things in life than posting on the internet about what people wear for lipstick.
