Women SHOULD be wearing dresses and feminine clothing, not men's clothing styles such as jeans.

I realize that a lot of women won't like what I have to say, but it's the plain truth. Women dress like men these days, and it is sad. With regard to pajamas, men aren't the ones wearing pajamas to the store.
Men have declined less? Hahaha most men my age avoid dressing up. Like the plague. This is just your double standard because you think women should look attractive all the time. The decline of dress styles is society wide and equal opportunity.

I am on my phone, please forgive the typos.

Yes, it seems to be a thing of the past.

I attended a wake last year. I dressed nicely, as I was taught to do. This meant a blazer, slacks, dress shoes, tie. Some folks dressed in worn jeans, shorts, t-shirts, casual shirts more appropriate for the beach or yard work. To be truthful, some wore clothes I would wear cleaning out the garage. I was shocked. One person actually commented loudly that I was all dressed up. WT...HUH?????

So, I 'dressed up' yesterday. Knee length pencil skirt, button up dress shirt, heels, had my hair and makeup done etc.

By the time I got to work I was a complete mess. The heat and humidity made it SO uncomfortable, I was sweaty, gross, my makeup ran, my hair fell apart etc.

So, while dressing up is nice and all, I think I would have looked much better if I had just work a cotton skirt and casual shirt with flats and simply clipped my hair up with a very minimum of makeup. I think I'll keep my dressing up to the evenings now, considering that's the only time I think I could pull it off especially during the summer.

To the guys complaining about women not dressing up, you wear a 3 piece wool suit when it's 90 degrees, humid and you have to take public transportation or walk somewhere and tell me how fun and convenient it is.

I love to dress up and try to even though I really don't go out as much anymore, I do have a couple ball gowns that are sitting and patiently waiting for that one time that they get to go out, Maybe when the holiday's roll by this winter I wil be able to convince the Hubby to go out and dress up.

I guess you could say so.
I guess with my age and recentish weight loss combined I rather dress in cute things not all dressed up and crap.

This is the time in my life where I'm probably going to love my body the most, look the best and be able to wear the clothes I really want to wear.

I rather be in something like short shorts, a cute flowy spaghetti strap top, adorable flip flops and matching sunglasses with my hair and make up done.
Or white skinny jeans, cute wedges and a cute top.

It's not a matter of what one wears on a daily basis, but what one wears for the occasion that the OP was first referring to. cute outfits, jeans, shorts, tank tops and so on are just fine for wearing many places, can't imagine people being expected to dress up every time they leave the house unless their lifestyle dictates it, but when going out to the opera, concert, dinning out and attending more formal events, those are the kinds of times, I think, most are wondering what people are thinking when they show up in some of the strangest, generally, most inappropriate attire.

I went to an afternoon symphony concert in Seattle once. I dressed appropriately. I couldn't believe how many people were there in shorts! Maybe because it was an afternoon event, rather than evening?? Or was that just Seattle??
