I've been in the habit of washing and conditioning my hair every day.

But two years ago I let it all hang out and stopped coloring my hair. Now it seems to get dryer and more frizzy. It's almost completely silver-gray.

I just bought some Aveda blue malva shampoo and conditioner to increase the silver tones, and most sources say not to use it on a daily basis. So maybe I need to change the way I've always done things....I know it's not necessary to shampoo and condition daily; how often do you do it?

Usually about 2-3 times a week, or I'll wash it if I go someplace that is smokey or has another smell that gets into my hair. I have long, thick hair so even with washing twice a week it never gets oily looking.

Every other day, usually. Sometimes I'll go a day longer if it looks good and I am running late.

Smile Super oily

Every day

One day I was feeling tired and thought I just won't wash it today. Got in the shower and it felt weird - too much of a habit, I guess.

Every day...my short hair tends to get oily so I rarely use conditioner although I do have one for oily hair.

Every other day. Any less or more often and my hair gets really oily.

I wash every two to three days. I use very little shampoo, and don't get much lather at all, because a lot of shampoo for a big lather just strips my hair dry, and conditioners are all way way too heavy for me, and my hair will get greased up and flat in hours.

I only use conditioner for a few days after I color then I'm done with it.

The only way I wash every day is if I've had a bad series of hot flashes or a night sweat.

Used to wash it everyday, but chemicals in shampoos and hair products just destroy your hair. This has been told to me by dermatologist, doctors, hairdresser, etc. They say ideal is to just wash it twice a week.

I cant get over the fact that it might look dirty so i wash it about 3/4 times a week in winter. But in summer and warm months (wich is around 7 months of the year here) i have to wash it everyday cause its too hot and it sweats!

So, 3 times a week in winter
6/7 times a week in summer/spring

wish i could wash it less, though

I swim M, W, and F so I come home and bathe/shampoo to get any chlorine off. I use a bar of Cetaphil soap on my face and hair. Good for my skin and leaves my hair silky and soft. Sometimes I shamooo on Sat.night if it needs it.
