Again, it's not that she is black. I couldn't care less. It's going to a black beauty Salon if you know what that is that I was wondering about...But i have got many great answers here. Thank you all :-)
The people who work there would be trained to cut all types of hair. Those are the types of people who would be hired for the job.
I have found many Filipino barbers who were once military barbers, now retired. Some were on ships, and they cut any hair. Most of them have full chairs and you get to read/wait. Those aging barbers are bringing women into the trade and I have found a couple of great female barbers, both Filipino.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have found Filipino (and Filipina) barbers to be consistently the best ever even for my black American hair. I guess that's a positive racial comment, but it's been true for me. I wouldn't think twice before sitting in the chair of a Filipino barber.
Depending on the salon they migh offer certain setvices that are general for any or type of hair and maybe some services that they do not specialize on. Each shop is so different that you can't tell just by looking.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would imagine a black beauty shop specializes in black hair. I don't have that kind of hair, so I'm not sure if it would be the best option for me.
I'm white, and I want to go to a Dominican salon. Not even so much to get my hair done, but just to hang out and speak Spanish with them. That'd be fun.

I would be willing to bet that a black salon could do better by a white womans hair than a white salon could do by a black womans hair.

Maybe but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I don't get my hair done at a "white" or "black" place. It's independently owned by a man who is very esteemed in our area. He never has more than one or two people in his shop at a time because he likes to make sure each person gets their money's worth of time and attention. My guess is he'll do anyone's hair regardless of hair type.
As a man, I go to great clips, after a coupon shows up in the mail. If my hair looks matted + a coupon has arrived, then I know it is time to go. I sit down for the first available stylist. If they are awful, I avoid them in the future. Sometimes, being a man is easy.
