It's one thing to be trapped inside during a snow storm, when it's too nasty to go outside and do anything or roads are too crappy for driving. But its another to be trapped inside when the sun is shining with blue skies and it is 100 + degrees with humidity! I climb the walls here in the Summer, Winters in NY I was o.k. with hanging around watching movies all day.
Nobody is "trapped" inside unless they want to be. And please, it does not reach 100+ degrees here....

Plus, as the above poster said, just turn on the AC and watch movies....

This Summer in Jax for 45+ days it was over 95 degrees with humidity levels over 100...not sure where in FL you are??

My issue is that I am an outdoors person, it looks nice out so I want to be outside...and its TOO HOT to be outside!

It actually can get worse in upstate NY. At least a few weeks in June, July, and part of august, the summer heatwaves in syracuse would make the temps higher than many parts of FL.

Yes, but it never feels as hot as it does down here. I know what the Summers are like up there, I lived in WNY for 30 years. At least doing things outside in the Summer is an option, down here it is not... unless you are out and done before 9am .

I thought this thread was for people who regreted it, not people who love it?

Ken E, no matter what a thread is written about for people who do NOT like it, you will always get the same people on here arguing their point we are wrong because they love it here, and they are basically cheerleaders for Florida. I have been on here for a few years, and it NEVER changes.... They cannot resist a good arguement to where people who do not like it are wrong, and everything is "happy rainbows and unicorns" in FL. It never goes over the actual temperature here, which is I guess 80 degrees? There is no such thing as a heat index. It's hotter up north far longer than a FL summer. All a big heaping pile of..... A lot of times I try to ignore it, but sometimes I can't, like now...

Having spent the last few summers in upstate NY, it's well over 1-2 weeks, but hey go ahead and think otherwise. You definitely need A/C up there for at least 1-2 months out of the year.

As Florida summers have gotten hotter over the past decade, as have the rest of the northeast. Anyone in FL will tell you that summers were milder 20 years ago than they are now. Ditto in syracuse.
