I'm packing up the boat and heading down this weekend as I look forward to evolving into a local, and living all of these funny experiences. Well, many are funny.

Every time you talk, it turns into some sort of debate about who is white and who is hispanic.

You find ways to complain about the good

Or maybe a better qualifier ---- You know you're from Florida when you have to explain to someone from California that yes, there are such things as white Hispanics, and yes, you can be a Latino without being a Mexican.

You know you're from Florida when...

- As you are driving on I-95 and you realize that the sun is shining on one side and the other side has downpour. (Kinda like a Rain-X commercial)
- When every city has a less than appealing nickname (i.e. Whorelando, Trampa, HollyHood, Fort Lickerdale, don't even get us starded on Naples or Seminole)
- If you call your tooth 'old chopper'
- You want to kill pet owners of Siberian Huskies
- If the good side of town is across a major street from the bad side of town (even the street lights on the bad side don't work)
- When you are driving on the highway and see a single random shoe in the middle of the road
- When the guy on the bike is faster than the flow of traffic
- If you know the reason why palm trees are able to last through hurricanes
- You know which bars on the beach stay open as a hurricane is making its landfall
- You know it doesn't have to be cold to have reason to turn your car on a few minutes before you sit in it.
- You think you are the only person in the state who knows what to do at a four way traffic stop during a power outage

You have named the toads that live on all your lighting fixtures......

Your cats dont even blink for the lizards who have gotten inside anymore.......

You know the right lane is actually the 'fast' lane between Oct and March........
