Why revive this thread?

The original post is pretty silly. How can you categorize an entire state? Florida is like 5 or 6 distinct regions, with the only similarities being weather, and even then, there are some key differences. Florida is far too large to classify. That’s like someone living in East St. Louis and then bemoaning the entire nation of the United States. If OP doesn’t like suburbs, move to Miami. Don’t like crowds or traffic, move to Ocala. Florida has so many different cities with their own vibes and cultures, it would be shortsighted to dismiss the entire state altogether as homogenous. There are parts of Florida I love and parts I despise, just like with everything else in the world.

A one time poster revived this thread 2 days ago. Forums tend to get new users who post once, they might be reincarnations of banned posters, we will never know. This is the new user's post:

It is true there is only one season. Super hot and dry and hot and even more dry. Long gone are the real winters we had in the 80's.

I loved my many years in FL...what memories esp the scent of flowers at night in the air.
Never far from the ocean.
Magical.

The bugs were a bummer...rich or poor, Orkin man or not -
they were anywhere and everywhere.
