How does anyone in their right mind think its a good idea to lift all restrictions and allow indoor dining with 100% capacity?

Contrary to wishful thinking, COVID is NOT over, Florida has a very high rate of community spread and we are heading into fall flu season.

It will never be over this virus, best thing is to carry on with precautions, those that are vulnerable need to take extra precautions and the gov should accommodate (reasonable) that.

If it gets to the point the medical system is being overwhelmed, then introduce back restrictions to slow the spread, rinse and repeat.

But DeSantis is lifting all precautions. Not arguing that businesses shouldn't stay open, but a free for all?

Sure, why not, is there anything preventing local government's from adding restrictions? Should some town with zero or a couple of cases be under the same restrictions as Miami for example?

Yes, because of community spread. People travel and come into contact with one another. What makes you think that the small town won't have an outbreak in a couple weeks or months? By the time you realize its gotten bad, its too late. You don't minimize the spread of COVID by having a highly localized approach.

This was released by the CDC this week--

COVID-19 SURVIVAL RATES (per CDC):
Ages 0-19: 99.997%
Ages 20-49: 99.98%
Ages 50-69: 99.5%
Ages 70+: 94.6%

Per the CDC’s numbers, those under 70-years-of-age have close to a 0% chance of dying from the infection.

For 6% of the deaths reported, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death. There’s a big difference between dying WITH COVID and dying FROM it.

Right now, if you have terminal lung cancer, kidney or liver failure and test positive for COVID, you are counted as a COVID death.

This doesn’t mean COVID can’t be dangerous, it can. But it’s almost exclusively dangerous among those with certain diseases or advanced in age. It does not make sense to shut down the entire state based on the FACTS we now have about COVID-19.

The title of the post is so dumb. You are such coronabros. If you think everybody is going to die at this point then you are ignorant. Stats are clear.

COVID-19 SURVIVAL RATES (per CDC):
Ages 0-19: 99.997%
Ages 20-49: 99.98%
Ages 50-69: 99.5%

Big props to Governor Desantis! Great work. Hey Disney World if you want your business to come back, then remove the face diaper mandates. Its ok to breathe the way God intended. The face diapers are there to scare people and to force people to comply to The State. They don't protect anybody from anything.

And what exactly is it you want to do: lock down the economy. Allow people to starve, go to food lines, commit suicide, risk abuse from occurring, more crime occurring especially among bored youth. The main industries of the state to go away. Over something with a death rate well below 0.1% for people under 70 y.o? You have this 'burn it down' apporach to rid of the coronavirus??? Sounds like a democrat party political paln to me. "Burn it down". No thank you. We kinda like the USA thank you very much. Go move to New York City or San Fransicsco then. You'll get all the lockdown restrictions to your hearts delight. Or better yet move to Cuba.

I tell you what. You can enjoy life in the basement and we can go out and breathe air the way God meant us to. The coronabros have lost. Take the 'L'. Even the Big 10 and Pac 10 are about to get back going again.

So you care about the well being of others, huh? That's why you're so upset with this mask mandate?
