There are incremental adjustments that can reduce costs of energy without my becoming an eco-freak.

By the way, most all solar panels are made and shipped from China or Taiwan. I'm not down with that, only the Left doesn't see or care about that little feature.

The biggest "return on investment" (well, not an investment but expenditure), or BENEFIT to me and my budget almost immediately was:

1) Using more high efficiency insulation
2) Turning down temp of water heater
3) installing new thermo/filters
4) changing stove elements including oven compartment
5) bought NEW microwave !.....these thing burn electricity like you don't BELIEVE
6) upgrade a few components in the compressor - world of diff
7) better sunblock window coverings - wow
More great tips!

How do they think we will explore other galaxies in the not-so-far future? with windmills and all-solar? solar now is being used on sats for sure in specialized capacities and space station.

Want to save a little money? do what my parents said : "Turn OFF that damn light when you leave the room !!! " or "How LONG do YOU need to SHOWER using all of the hot water!!!" or
"WHY is the TV on when you're not watching a damn thing?"

It's not that hard...it's simple stuff....it adds up

or "Why are you on your computer plugged in 24/7 WASTING time on forums or FB?"
Hi There, let us get back on "topic" please.

I didnot create this thread to "criticize" other members.

Okay, Solar is NOT for you, we heard you the other 2 times, NO need to keep "repeating" yourself.

I donot want "other members" to feel too intimidated to discuss Solar Energy "pros & cons" in a RESPECTFUL MANNER.

Thanks for your awesome tips! But let us leave out the DISRESPECTFUL comments about how other members CHOOSE to run their lives.

Thank you and have an awesome day/night.

Angela

Our HOA only allows them on the roof. The roof on the rear of our home wouldnt be noticeable from the street, but the homeowners across the pond from us would have to look at our solar panels.

We do have 1 home nearby that has an extensive solar array, but not long after they installed it all, they sold and left....weird. Theirs are on the side and rear and are visible from the street...looks terrible.

I might do it if I lived elsewhere, but would prefer to have them in my yars and not on my roof...too much chance of the install causing roof leaks. I don't like anyone on my roof at all.
