Could someone tell us if there is still a fee for bringing your vehicle into Florida when you move there? A few years ago, we were told there is a $300 fee for each out of state vehicle that you register in Fla. Is it still that way? Also, would that include a moped?

Additional Fees

Thank you so much for that info. We had been misled by having someone tell us that you have to pay a $300 fee for every vehicle that you bring in to Fla. when you move there. Your license plates cost no more then ours do. Thanks again.

That was recinded years ago. It was only in affect a short time before it was recinded. No $300 impact fees in Florida!

Jammie,

I am glad you asked this question. I was wondering what the fee would be as well.

Yes, I'm glad to know the answer to it, too and also glad to know there was such a fee of $300 and that it no longer exists. It doesn't appear that we'll have much of a problem because we plan on only having one vehicle by the time we move down there. Also, we won't have to pay a fee for our scooters since we aren't required to have license plates for them. I understand there are only a couple of states that require them to be licensed since they're just below the 50 cc's.

BUT... The new plate fee is either $225 or $325 depending on the vehicle. Title is $85. Reg fees are no longer $27, $35, $47.... They START at $57 and go up..... 2 people I know just registered from out of state, one was $435, the other guy paid $520 for a Cavalier I sold him.......

So there is no impact fee, just a bend over and give me your entire paycheck fee for everyone here now.

This year's registration renewal fee works about to what we were paying to do the same thing in Tennessee in 1997. So while I'd always like to pay less, in the greater scheme of things, it's not horrible.
