Cheese, tomato, and basil grits will force you to reconsider. Also, crumbled turkey sausage and cheddar cheese with stewed tomatoes.

My favorite brand is Anson Mills (based out of the Carolinas). They take about an hour to cook and they're not inexpensive, but they're so flavorful and the texture is nice.

I live in Edmonds, WA and I have yet to find a decent brand of grits! I ordered some online a while back from this mill in North Carolina and they were full of grain beetles. If someone knows a good brand I could either get online or here in Washington, I would be truly grateful.

Originally from the South, I find the Albers brand, made in WA, to be quite good.

I like them plain too but I REALLY like cheese grits, shrimp and grits etc. With lots of Crystal hot sauce.

Thank you. I have seen them in the grocery store but hesitated to buy them.

I just bought some instant plain grits( don't judge me). I'll make them with some skim milk and then a little butter.
