Belated congrats to Lacey on her second star, and to all my foodie friends for passing the 10,000-post mark! I was too wiped out when I got home from class last night to scroll through all 80 or 90 new posts so missed out on all the fun. Believe me, I would much rather have been here talking food!

Not sure yet what this evening's repast will feature. Some days, we've got the whole day's menu planned out (and mostly prepared) before 7:00 a.m., but today is not one of those days. Guess we'll just have to see what falls out of the freezer when we open it later. My spouse used to refer to his mom's fridge as "Fibber McGee's refrigerator," after the famous closet in the radio show that avalanched its contents noisily and spectacularly whenever the door was opened, and I think he must have chosen to honor his mom's memory by duplicating it in our house <grin>. Whatever it is will be tasty, I'm sure!

It's 6:15 am and I just finished tossing 2 chickens on the smoker for tonight. Was tossing around the idea of adding a couple of pieces of salmon later on to be used for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Gotta run and check the temp...

Rain! So no BBQ tonight. I have a couple of boneless pork chops so maybe I'll just fry those up, throw a little mushroom soup over them and serve it over some nice white Jasmine rice. For a veggie I guess maybe some sweet carrots. A great geen salad with all the goodies! This is not for sure yet.........I change my mind sometimes several times before I figure it out for sure!!

Can't rep you at the mo - but ooooo that sounds goooood!!!

The beef is already cooked and ready either for some rice or pasta. That's as far as my early morning mind can think today. By the time my morning glass of Tang starts working a little motor of some kind will turn on and I will get moving in that direction.

So why no bbq? Rain???
I thought we foodies were tougher than that! Heck last thanksgiving and many times before we bbq and run the smoker while it's snowing. The worst was New Years eve trying to smoke a brisket at +10 degrees with a 5-10 mph wind. Now that was a silly idea and took forever to get done. Needless to say I'll not do that again, but rain? Hmmm, if only...
You know I'm just pulling your chain right??? I don't blame you, I just tend to get a little stupid when it comes to wanting bbq.....
Speaking of smokers, gotta go add chips to mine.

Hey..I agree. I have BBQed many times in the rain--no problem for me. Now hubby---that's another story! Ha! He might melt if he gets wet! Ha! Since we moved to NC he has made the BBQ "his". I'm ok with that but I do miss doing it myself.

I think it's going to be a stuffed cabbage casserole in which the cabbage, meat, rice and sauce are layered, rather than actually stuffing the cabbage.
We're getting ready for a monster auction this week to clear out our barn, so there will be a lot of crockpot, casserole and pizza action around here.

Lacey, that chicken sounds terrific. You must be exhausted after you prepare that!
