Tonight I make Vegetable Biryani with mint chutney and homemade plain yogurt or cucumber raita...pending.For dessert Carrot Halva with pistachio nuts.

These are the ingredients for my Vegetable Biryani...

2 tbsp ghee
1 large diced red onion
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
9 peppercorns
1 tbsp fresh diced ginger /garlic
1 tomato diced
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup large peas
1/2 cup diced carrots
1/2 cup diced potatos
1 cube chicken or vegetable broth
1 tsp salt
1/2 to 1 tsp tsp ground red chili pepper (depends how spicy you like it)
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
4 cups water
2 cups Basmati rice

* Garam Masala is made out of:
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 1/2 tsp ground coriander
1 1/2 tspground cardamom
1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
