Yeah, just like a few have already said,I haven'thad a donut in a very long timebut if and when I do, a maple glazed donut or a vanilla glazed long john. Plain and simple, that's me.
I love that box of Entenmann's that contains 4 powdered donuts, 4 cinnamon covered donuts and 4 plain cake donuts. I don't dare buy it more than once a year!
We sometimes buy a few boxes of these prior to camping trips, if we don't feel like making our own. There's something about eating donuts outdoors, on a chilly morning, with campfire coffee... major yum.
In Oregon, where we live, VooDoo Donut is the new krispy kreme (what everybody wants when they think donuts). http://voodoodoughnut.com/index.php
And I want to thank everyone who has responded to my question. I'm encouraged now, to just take the whole dang thing next time. I suppose I can always wrap the rest of it up and take it home to share with the hubby and kids!
Get some refrigerator biscuits. Flatten them out a bit and poke a hole in the middle. Fry in about an inch of oil or crisco in a cast iron skillet. Roll in cinnamon sugar when done.
It's a quick cheating-way of making homemade donuts! The kids love it.
Regular glazed raised donut is my favorite and first option.
Others I'll select are: maple bars, or chocolate-topped bars (or donuts), the glazed chocolate cake donuts, cinnamon twist, or a fritter if I'm in the mood for it. I like custard fillings, too.
Love donuts, although my favorites tend to be from independent little bakeries.
Chocolate. If that's not available, glazed. I don't care for fruit filled, powdered type donuts. I also eat the whole thing, sometimes two. I mean, who eats half of a donut?
P.S. Voodoo Donuts are awesome
