What is the fascination with Peppers??? It seems you can't find a dish in a restaurant without Peppers. I know its an exaggeration, but since my Gallbladder surgery I cannot tolerate peppers in any food. And I liked peppers!! Even if they are diced fine and cooked in things I'll get diarrhea. I went to a wedding a few months back and EVERY DISH had red peppers in it. I knew the Grooms mother and she warned me that they were doing this.... I couldn't even eat the salad. I was lucky to get a basic boring grilled chicken breast... The funny thing was looking around the finished plates at my table every one of them had a small pile of peppers on them. The comment was made "what's with the peppers in everything" repeatedly... it's become the "in" vegetable for some reason

I like chili peppers in pretty much everything, but I could see how you wouldn't want to eat them if they make you sick.

I hate peppers, and haven't really noticed that they're in everything. I generally don't have a problem avoiding them.

I had my gallbladder removed like five years ago, and I still haven't quit my fondness of pretty much all peppers. I've noticed they will give me an occasional flare up of heartburn but that is for anything with insoluble fiber. Don't even get me started on cucumber and watermelon!

I hadn't noticed a new surge in the presence of peppers in everything, maybe this is regional? If they were in the salad I would have just picked them out if they bothered me, like I do in the case of cucumbers and celery in salads. Red peppers do add a splash of appetizing color to an otherwise monotone dish, maybe that's why they're getting tossed into everything?

I know exactly what you mean. They are in a lot of foods here in my work cafeteria, especially vegetables, and also in frozen dinners from the grocery store that contain these pieces of red pepper. My personal pet peeve is when I order something like baked clams or stuffed mushrooms or something with stuffing and there are pieces of red pepper mixed in. They change the taste of whatever they're mixed into. I like red bell peppers say with sausage or stuffed/roasted or maybe with chicken or steak fajitas, where they are integral to the dish. But those little pieces that are added to dishes for no apparent reason are terrible.

Do what my DH husband does since he can't eat them either and ask them to make the dish without the peppers. Unless it's an occasion where you cannot control what's in the food then remove the peppers or don't eat that dish.

I dislike green bell peppers in most applications and generally have no problem avoiding them. I don't mind other peppers.
