For kids, the recreation activities are low end, and some require long drives even within the local league. Will your kid be able to ride bikes or walk beyond the confines of of the track home division? Likely not, and no reason to. There few if any parks, the busy secondary roads have no sidewalks, no stores nearby. They are stuck in the gulag till you get home, watching hours upon hours of cable tv, playing video games till you drive them somewhere. When Haslet area teams do manage to get a youth sports team together they are roundly beaten in inter-league competition. Horrible extra curricular participations rates when you consider the size of their high school.

Well seriously, why not tell the good and the bad about an area? People are making a huge financial commitment and they really should here the pros and the cons. Why people like the area, and why people chose not to move there. This one sided cheerleading is misleading.

Then be factual! There is Haslet and Ft. Worth with Haslet mailing address. From new schools, ER, shopping to homes with reasonable lots - it is there or a 10 minute drive away.

We live close to (about 100 yards) from Haslet proper, and we love how quiet it is. You do hear the occasional train horn, but it's nothing I would even remotely consider to be a nuisance. Alliance Town Center is a few miles away. Northwest ISD is a great school district. The complaints above seem over exaggerated and possibly tied to a more personal vendetta or experience that we may never understand.
