I don't see a reason why would someone finance a vehicle?

If you don't have a working vehicle and need one to get to your job so you can earn $$$, what are your options? What if public transportation is plain unavailable, not just unreliable. And if you don't have the cash to buy one even used?

A while back the government shutdown all high-power analog TV broadcast.

Now they only transmit low-power digital to much smaller broadcast regions [predominately urban population dense areas].

Leaving most of the nation's square miles without TV reception.

I can't believe people don't know about that!

I financed a 'new' vehicle in 1978, and not another one since. I have owned many vehicles, they have all been used and I paid cash.

It was not until '08 that my Dw bought a 'new' vehicle and she financed it's purchase. That was the first time in her life that she had ever bought 'new'.

Off the top of my head I would guess that we have owned a dozen vehicles in the past 30 years. All of them we paid cash for [with the 2 exceptions that I listed above].

If you must ride a bicycle to get to work, before you have $400 to buy a vehicle; then so be it. Ride a bike, or walk, or use a bus.

Yeah, I'd greatly enjoy walking 10 miles to my job at 5am before the busses start running if my car broke down. Fortunately, I have the cash to buy a makeshift vehicle if that were to happen. If not, it would still be much less of a headache to simply finance a used vehicle and pay it off as soon as one can..
