What are everyone’s favorite cable steaming service? My family and I have Philo and their 55 channels package for $20. We also have Netflix, Hulu, and ESPN+.
What does everyone else have and your thoughts on your package. Whether it be PlayStation Vue, directv now, sling tv, YouTube tv, Hulu live tv, Philo, at&t watch tv, fubo.
The good side of the package/live streaming providers is that it brings a lot of channels that were left out of the mix, especially (cue hosannas) Sports! (may peace be upon it).
The bad side is that it brings the awful cable model, and bloated pricing, to a market that was thriving and growing on a very consumer-friendly 'cafeteria' model.
I haven't had cable TV for years. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video (and I have Hulu too, now that they have it bundled with Spotify) work for me, along with digital antennas.
I read books that I check out from the public library.
If I want to find about recent news, I read a newspaper.
If I want to watch a movie I check it out from the public library and watch it on my computer.
My cable TV and streaming services monthly bill is $0.00.
I really enjoy some cable shows...but feel I'll need to give it up in the future. I went without a tv for three years a few years back and had no trouble dealing with that. A lot more peaceful...limits most of the horrendous stories on the news daily.
Netflix. That's all. I think it's currently ~$12/month on top of internet service at $80/month.
Hulu is a very worthwhile companion to Netflix, bringing current shows into the mix. I increasingly find what I am looking for in older shows and movies on Hulu, when NF used to be all I ever needed.
That's really high internet. You don't have any options for lower cost?

It is, but in my area that's not out-of-line for unlimited data, 1000 mbps upload/download. Also, the bill is fully-reimbursed by my spouse's employer -- he's a tech consultant who works from a home office when he's not traveling to see clients -- so, no, there are no lower-cost options because, ultimately, we pay nothing out of our own pocket for our home internet service.

Then why do you quote it as part of your cost above? Which argument are you trying to make, here?
