Sounds neat. Although most Africans I've known were Arab/Melkite Christians. I did know one woman who had family in Cote D'Ivoire and in France.
I guess I can see some concern that these nations might experience a "brain-drain" to the US, and other developed nations, which may further hurt their ability to progress. However they might bring remittances home and some of those countries might be too unstable (Somalia), repressive (Ethiopia), or corrupt (Nigeria) for their educated class to be able to do much. Also if you can live in a better country it's certainly sensible or understandable to try.
I don't know if there is a growth here, but there sure are a lot. The Mission bend area of Houston has a lot of Africans. I think Houston has the largest Nigerian population in the US

yea Houston is flooded with nigerians , nyc has Nigerians to a good portion of the Africans here are nigerian , but nyc aint competing with Houston with Nigerians.
I know we have a lot of Ethiopians (not as many as DC) and a lot from Congo
i never seen any african from congo or ethiopia in nyc. but nyc needs ethiopians cause their women are sexy .
here in nyc most are ghanian and nigerian, but i have met and seen people from cameroon , serria leone , senegal , liberia , madagascar , egypt , morocco and i think thats about it for what ive seen in nyc
Its weird, the Ethiopians are black but they have naturally smooth curly hair. That was really odd to me.
ethiopians have a lot of arab blood thats why. and also ethiopians may be black but in my eyes their a different type of black. its just like how here in nyc you'll see a Indian as black as a west African but their Indian with the straight regular indian hair.

you may be confusing the Bangladeshis with the Indians. I know they are one of the darkest races on Earth.
