English, no doubt about it. Just because a ton of Germans migrated out to the Midwest doesn't change the fact that we were a British colony. Seriously, how is our culture German influenced at all? I don't really see it.

I grew up in a very German area. Oldsters still spoke it, old dishes were served, German hats (with the feather) were worn with suits, polka is still alive in NE Wisconsin. Not to mention the Wisconsin staples at every bbq or tailgate: brats, sauerkraut and beer. Not to mention festivals like Oktoberfest across the state. I know Cincy and other other areas of the country have similar German domination. I doubt that anywhere has more continued influence than NE WI, though it's been fading a bit ever since I was a kid.
