Until the most popular national parks start dramatically limiting visitors (Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon), I don't think I'll be back to any. The hordes completely destroy the fun of being in a majestic natural environment.
I was at Yellowstone the last time in 2019, and the crowds were so intense and out of control that drivers had to park MILES away to see any of the attractions. Literally miles and miles of tour buses lined up along the roads. It's just not fun anymore.
I went to Yellowstone in February of 2021 while it was covered in snow.
My favorites of the ones I've been to are the ones I've spent the most time in: Joshua Tree, Sequoia, Yosemite, and Zion.
I've also been to Acadia, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Haleakala, Mt. Rainier, Olympic, and Redwoods. And there are many I would like to see. Yellowstone and Hawaii Volcanoes are at the top of my list.
Of the ones I've gone to, Big Bend. The colors and scenery were fantastic.
My cousin, who has now been to 43 of them (just tackled Wind Cave this past weekend) just visited Big Bend two months ago, and agrees with you. He said what was most refreshing is that it looked like the way it was 100 years ago, just due to the isolation that the park offers. You really, really have to go out of your way to be there. He said for three days he didn't have the ability to use his phone. I haven't been there, but only live 4 hours away and do plan to at some point.

I personally found Joshua Tree to be underwhelming. It's certainly an interesting place, but it doesn't really feel like a National Park at all.

I thought I was the only one, but felt some of this. Maybe its that the town is RIGHT there.
Arches didn't feel like a NP either. A NM sure, but not a park.
